Yes, I listen to competitors Audiobooks, especially when they are good readers.  R C Bray is amazing. He may not have the range of some actors, but he is very good and engaging.  This is a very old school military and espionage books.  A myriad of characters, including Humans and Aliens and interesting thoughts on progress. It takes place thousands of years in the future.  But the Tech is very believable.  It is not too magic.  

like SciFi that focuses on the important stuff, the characters. Good SciFi stories are about people, it just so happens the setting is the future.  All the way back when Robert A Heinlein wrote "Star Ship Troopers" (Not the movie, the book)., with all the tech, it is the characters that are important.

Here too it is all about the characters. People stuck in an oppressive environment that just want to be able to do what they want. This collection introduces most of the main characters for the whole series.  This Audiobook has 3 books in it, it is seventeen hours and twenty-two minutes of excitement and intrigue.

So if you looking for some when to escape to, this is a good choice.  The Galactic Republic smacks of the corruption we see today.  So if you looking for a bright future where things are better, this is not what you want.  Sadly humans are involved, and just like 4000 years ago, there is corruption.  But what do you do in te sight of this corruption?  That is an important question.
